Dr Thawale is able to offer his patients pain relief for a wide range of conditions. He uses innovative techniques in his treatment, including radiofrequency denervation, ultrasound-guided injections, and targeted injections.
He gained his medical degree (MB BS) from the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS) in India and went on to earn a post-graduate specilist qualification (MD in Anaesthetics) from a large tertiary University Hospital in Mumbai, India. He then undertook a fellowship at prestigious KEM Hospital in Mumbai, specialising in cardiac anaesthesia before becoming a consultant anaesthetist.
After moving to the UK, Dr Thawale underwent full British Anaesthetic and Pain Medicine training across South London, Leicester, Nottingham, Derby and Northampton. He also gained Fellow of Royal College of Anaesthetist(FRCA) and Fellowship of Faculty of Pain Medicine(FFPMRCA) by exam before gaining CCT(Completion of Training) and subsequently joined as a Consultant in Pain Medicine and Anaesthesia at Epsom & St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust based in South London and Surrey.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr Thawale is involved in medical education and helps train advanced Pain medicine trainee doctors, Anaesthetic trainee doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals in pain medicine. He is also the current lead for ultrasound-guided outpatient pain relief injections, Orofacial Pain and Chronic Headaches. He is also Faculty Tutor in Pain Medicine(FTP) responsible for training, education and assessment of Pain Medicine trainees across London Zone. He is well published author of several Pain medicine and anaesthetic peer reviewed articles.
